Used EVs for sale
A free, moderated noticeboard for private sellers of used electric cars in Australia. Every listing is checked by a person before it appears. Contact sellers directly: we don’t handle payments.
No listings yet
We’ve just opened the noticeboard, so there are no cars listed yet. Selling an EV? Be the first to list it, for free.
Buying and selling safely
- See the car in person before paying anything, and take a test drive. Check the VIN and rego match the paperwork.
- Do a PPSR check at ppsr.gov.au (about $2). It shows if there’s money owing on the car, or if it’s been reported stolen or written off.
- Never pay a deposit to someone you haven’t met, or into an account that doesn’t match the seller’s name. Be wary of “I’m overseas, a courier will deliver it” stories, gift cards, crypto or rushed deals.
- Ask for a battery health report: from the car’s app or service menu, a dealer, or an independent test such as the NRMA EV battery health check. Battery figures on this page are as stated by the seller and haven’t been checked by us.
- Check the warranty: most EV batteries carry a separate 8-year warranty. Confirm the start date and kilometre limit with the manufacturer.
- Sellers: meet in a public place, don’t hand over keys without a confirmed payment that has cleared, and complete a transfer of registration with your state road authority.
Suspect a scam? Report it at Scamwatch and email us at [email protected] so we can remove the listing.
Listing terms
- A noticeboard only. EV Aussie shows listings so buyers and sellers can contact each other. We are not a party to any sale, we don’t handle payments, deposits or vehicles, and we don’t act as an agent or dealer.
- No warranties. Listings, including price, kilometres and battery health, are provided by sellers. We don’t inspect cars or verify details, and we make no promises about any car, seller or buyer. Do your own checks (see “Buying and selling safely”).
- Every listing is reviewed first. Nothing goes live automatically. We may edit listings for length or clarity, and we may refuse or remove any listing at any time, for example if it looks like a scam, the car isn’t an EV, or the seller can’t sell it.
- Private sellers only, one car per listing. Dealers, please email us first.
- Listings expire after 60 days. Email us to renew, update or remove yours at any time, including when it sells.
- Free to list. We don’t charge for listings and we don’t take a commission.
- Your responsibilities. You must own the car (or be authorised to sell it), tell the truth about it, and follow the law, including Australian Consumer Law and your state’s rules on private car sales.
See our privacy page for how we handle the details you send us.
